I wish all the nominees good luck on a terrific night. Curious to why the Blaze softball team that won the NSA is not included. Good luck to everyone and look forward to a great evening celebrating baseball and softball in the area.

They were selected as a finalist and chose to decline the nomination. First time we have had that happen. We hated to see it as we were really looking forward to honoring all these special young ladies for their accomplishments. I have gotten to know many of them over the years and have featured them in my paper quite often. Incredible group of girls, would have been a very strong candidate to win the Youth Team of the Year Award in my view.

They have an engagement in Myrtle Beach the next weekend and felt like they needed to direct their attention and finances to that event instead.

No worries, the show goes on and we have some very excited finalists that we can't wait to honor in front of over 500 guests that night. All the finalists are treated first class, they get to participate in a huge autograph session right beside major league baseball players and our special baseball and softball guests. It's a night they won't forget for a long time. We have added some new categories this year to ensure we honor all areas of baseball and softball. We also added a Comeback Player of the Year award and have three incredible finalists for that one, all with great stories to tell

I have the honor of serving as MC and looking out across the crowd at all of the pride the parents and kids have for the awards. It's neat!

If you have never been, come on out, I promise you its the most special night of the year for youth baseball and softball

Wow, turned down event. Too bad the parents passed on this. Hate to see them snub this event as you don't always get recognized as a team.

THE 12U CHARLOTTE BLAZE BLACK IS VERY HONORED!!

The Blaze girls and coaches are very honored to have been nominated for The Greater Charlotte Travel Team of the Year.

As mentioned by SouthCharlotteSports, we are unable to attend the dinner as the team will be traveling the following weekend to Myrtle Beach to participate in the NSA Hall of Fame weekend, where they will be recognized as World Series Champions.

We had accepted the NSA invitation to attend that event prior to being aware that the team was nominated for the Hot Stove Award, and the expense of attending both of these events is too much for our families in these tough economic times.

Again, we are very honored by the nomination and thank those involved for that honor. We also wish to offer our congratulations to all of the nominees in each of the categories. We know how hard each and every one of these players, parents, siblings, etc. have worked to help these kids reach this level. Every one of them is a winner!
