Grimsley Coach Steps Down

not really angry at all. Anderson is back where he belongs - at Ragsdale coaching his son for a school, staff, principal, AD and parents that appreciate him. He and coach Boykins are going to have that D firing on all cylinders before long.

He got the shaft at Andrews but before long he'll be back on the field as a head coach for some lucky school.

On another message board there are several Andrews supporters who are most unhappy with the administrations actions regarding the football staff.

 

wossa...glad you are not angry...just feel you should jump on known facts first...new AD wasn't even in place when Coach Anderson got the shaft,...you should be jumping on the principle who ultimately makes all the decisions...look what happened the first day of practice with the HP Enterprise...she definitely has not shown very much support for Athletics. Even though you are at Ragsdale, please show some support, on this thread, for the poor kids who are on the Andrews football team as well as the other athletes at the school who are left bewildered by the departure of many coaches and teachers this year. It is afterall about the "student" athletes first...who really got the shaft at Andrews this year.

 

I do feel sorry for those kids - especially since they had a great coach and staff already in place. There was no reason for things to happen the way they did. The kids are definitely the ones that suffer.

I'm sorry for disparaging the new AD when it definitely appears it was the principal that made such a mess there.

Makes me appreciate Ragsdale principal and AD that much more.

 

Coach Anderson is one of my best friends. I'm disappointed to read some of what I am reading here. I know exactly what happened and several of you (except Wossa) are way off. Andrews did not go out of their way to find him another teaching position because Derek applied for another position. Derek went to the playoffs ever year, cleaned up a cheating program and sent 23 players to college last year with more than half getting financial aid. Derek loved coaching at Andrews. Unfortunately he was missing his own kids growing up.

Some of you should get some facts before you put a guy down on a public forum. One of you on here I know knows better.

As to the Grimsley situation, I have no facts and don't know what happened so I won't comment. Some of you should take the same course.

I wasn t in any way putting Coach down and you are correct Idon didn t know the facts I was just wanting to make sure ALL knew that often times whether this coach or not good quality people and coaches get the shaqft all the time BUT of course i thik you know and realize this as well as many on the board i wish him the best of luck and I would do the same for my kids!
