but Charlotte.com's high school football threads are better than these are. What happened to hearing everyone talking about their teams? All you get on here now is TBR picks of the week. My high school i graduated from has won just as many games this year as they did all of last year and poses probably the biggest threat against Indy who has the longest winning streak in the country, and don't think they aren't garnering tons of national attention. the coach (Mark Richt) who coaches at my school (Georgia) said he never knew much about the talent up in Charlotte even when he went to help recruit Maddox to come to Florida State when he was a coordinator there. He said he knew about Independence's winning streak but didn't think much about it since it's in North Carolina, but next year he said there's a good possibility that the starting lineup could be Joe Cox at QB, Muhammed Massaquoi at WR, and Mario Raley lined up in the slot (all 3 indy players), and Kenneth Harris (From Cherryville) at WR. Charlotte football is only getting better, and I'm glad that all the top recruits from NC go out of state. He also said that he wanted to make further trips up there because he thinks a lot of the great players in NC aren't being as heavily recruited as they are in Florida and Alabama. I've been talking up Massaquoi for over a year now and no one down here believed he was as good as I was saying because he was from North Carolina, but they quickly shut their mouths and everyone down here has Massaquoi mania. :bananalam :bananalam

A lot of good football being played outside of charlotte. Always have been! Do you remember what happened to C.J, Leak the last time he played football in Taylorsville? I do!

We also compete against sites such as NCPreps and NCHSFootball. The guys have done a super job with baseball. TBR is the top place now in the state to talk baseball. We are still trying to make a dent into the football realm. But it's getting there. Even with the picks, it's much bigger than it was last year.

Charlotte.com and NCHSFootball.com were OK but sometimes they would turn into smack fests loaded with trolls and clones. I did have the opportunity to talk with (and meet) guys like Boxman who went out of his way for the child of a friend of mine who had cancer. I'll never forget that. Other guys like K63, wossa, and even our own smash frequented those boards. I enjoyed the first hand football info relating to schools around this area and across the state from some of the most reliable posters on the net. Now those same posters are on here and we have had the opportunity to travel during the playoffs and post the results from across the region right here on TBR (and other sites). Me, wossa, smash and Boxman brought you the results of various 2A, 2AA, 3A, 3AA and 4A NCHSAA playoff and State Championship games last season and I'll bet you we'll be doing the same again this year.

Spread the word. Tell your friends. TBR is coming.

charlotte.com pulls readers in because of the story and content. The other boards do the same - they based on recruiting and have stories, videos, stas, all that stuff. and like VI said you end up with a bunch of juvenile smack talk in a lot of the threads - hell I even get into more of it than I should.

Give it time and TBR will keep growing - meanwhile sockittome feel free to talk here about all the high school fotball you want.

I'll be posting details about one of ther biggest 3A games in the state this Friday between Ragsdale and Eastern Randolph. I may have to break out my digital camera and even snap a few photos.

I miss Sockittome. He was the best moderator ever at Charlotte.com. His posts on the teams were the best ever...and then he had to move to Athens...ugh (pun intended B).

We are still looking for a dedicated Charlotte moderator to bring us details about the teams and games around Charlotte. To date, we still have not found one. But the football forum continues to get better each year...thanks to Smash and the other frequent posters. As IC pointed out, it's not easy to grow when the only advertising is word of mouth...but we are trying

Thanks Braves for telling me about this site. Without you I'd still be posting on Charlotte.com after all these years
