    But there might actually be someone out there that thinks running poles is beneficial for baseball players. Wrong!

    Ok, maybe jogging can flush out some lactic acid, but that's it. So will a walk to the parking lot while drinking water.

    Here's my point.... Poles are a waste of time for training baseball players. You can run poles to warm up. But you could do agility drills, dynamic stretching, and sprints and....you will be much better off. And you can stay off the ball field.

    I'll give you two examples of athletes. You tell me which one you want your showcase basesball players to look like to impress scouts.

    a) "pole" runner (marathon runner)

    It's great to train. But what exactly are you training for? A pitch takes 2 seconds, a stolen base takes 3.5 seconds, a double takes 7 or 8 seconds.

    So.. don't worry about those players running poles. Feel sorry for them.

    they were probably pitchers....some coaches believe that running poles reduces the amount of lactic acid left in the pitchers arm after a game, although i do not believe in this and would recommend just ice.
