OH MY, I have been gone for a week in Florida watching some great ball and I come back to hear the word "POLITICS" again. It happened to me when I played highschool sports & it is still going on 25 years later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it will go on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Listen do not bring Central Cabarrus into your mudslinging contest with your false comments. Futhermore, if you have read the Charloote Observer lately, Amanda Barrs pitched a perfect game and hit two out og the park Homeruns in Central's game last week.Central only carries 11 players on the Varsity in the first place.

CC I think this is a great thread (and most everyone else did too I think) with some really good post. An example was given and it just happened to be CC. No one cares how many players they carry on their varsity team. Don't try to turn the thread it to something its not. No one has slung any "mud".....as you put it. Everything doesn't center around CENTRAL:229031_ha :229031_ha as some might like to think. ONLY GOOD POST WANTED ON THIS THREAD. :imagestor

I agree with Cheez that this statement was totally innocent and just an example. Cool It! U have a great team with some wonderful young ladies! We all respect what U have done and are happy for your team and the parents. There are other great players, great coaches, great teams and we all look forward to watching the kids play. This is a great topic with some constructive and infomative exchanges. Great job to all that took the time to give useful input! I love this board! Yea, I know I am on to much! RET

 

ccfastpitch, you need to get use to the comparisons that come out concerning your team. when anyone is in the news alot or new threads every week about another poll there in whether its good or bad, then they will be used for comparison. heck crystal cox is still, and rightly so, used as a gauge for pitchers :229031_ha . with your teams high profile everyone will compare or critique your team, coach, field, parents etc....... it is something that goes along with the fame. when i seen the comment i thought it was a direct shot until nothing else was mentioned. it was just a comparison. now to add to this thread. whether you are considered good or bad i applaud those that take the time to coach and take what comes at them from players, parents, fans, administration, forums, wives or husbands (for spending to much time at field). take all these comments and learn from them or laugh at them.

 

It may have been a innocent but I didn't take it that way,You should never call a kid by name to use as a example,very poor taste in trying to get a point across. As far as politics in this sport ,it starts in the REC. and continues thru College ( I KNOW ). I support CC's program and how it has been run for several years now and the reason they have been sucessful is they play the best at each position and each memeber has a team role to play.Just leave the kids name off if it isn't in a POSTIVE WAY. Enough said

Saying Gina Allen pitches every inning of every game is not an attack, a shot at her, or using her in poor taste. If I have a pitcher I pitch every game its because she is good and shes my best. Gina is one of the best if not the best in the area. So what if someone used her as a comparison (or any other player for that matter) as long as its not an attack. So what if she pitches every inning of every game or almost.........Its because shes good and thats what MS wants to do. Thats why he is the coach. If I'm not mistaken Crystal Cox pitched almost every inning of every game her varsity career. She was (is) a great pitcher. Lets leave this thread for what its was supposed to be.....coaches or styles of coaching...good and bad. This isn't about individual players, teams, mudsling, or intended to start drawing negative fire from everyone. Central has a great program..........everybody knows it.......those of you who are that passionate about that program should just laugh at those you think attack the program. I think its safe to say that people give their best shots to those who are at the top. Sometimes those are negative and yes not deserved, but thats how sports and people are and probably always will be.

 

Bottom line, high school ball gets very few looks from college coaches. Don't sweat it and have fun.

Choose a travel team that has some class and a coach who is not looking for the credit. It is a must to go to the right tournaments. College coaches will listen to your travel coach, but seeing is believing. The top college coaches need to see you play against the top college recruits. When the time comes you must play well in front of them.

Also, attend summer camps at the schools you are interested in and can compete for a position on. Be realistic with your abilities.

If your daughter is really a good player, then a coach will make room for her. After all, they want to win and it takes the best to do that.

This is a public forum, for everyone to place their opinions on! I did not use Gina Allen's name for any reason other than I knew most everyone would know her name and CC's team. Just an example! I think Gina has seen her named used on TBR before and lived through it! My use of her name should not have bothered her or YOU! There has been absolutely no MUDSLINGING on this thread until you got involved! So when you acuse someone of mudslinging, don't live in a ROCK MANSION near a rock throwing contest! I meant no disrespect to Gina or CC! I think you jumped to conclusions that you wanted to! You have an opinion and so does everyone else! I'm not getting into a mudslinging or rock throwing contest with you or anyone else!
