Sorry, Southern, but I don't know what that means. Does it place them back into the championship round?

    WWBA Consolation National Champions

The 17U Heat Showcase Red Team was put in the Colsolation Pool after the 1st round. The pool winners in the first round plus 11 wild cards (48 teams total) went to the Championship pools and the other 100 teams went into the Consolation pool. In the Colsolation pool the top 4 teams after pool play that had the best record and gave up the fewest runs were placed in a 4 team National Championship Colsolation bracket this morning. The Heat Showcase team played the semi final game against the Dallas Tigers and won 6-3. Then they played the Championship game against the Delaware Diamonds and won 8-4. They recieved the WWBA Colsolation National Championship Trophy.

A tournament well played. Heat Showcase Baseball will have 2 teams competing for the WWBA 16U championship this week in East Cobb as well.

    17U Consolation Bracket

    Great Job Heat,
This tournament had 146 teams in it. Yes they call it a consolation bracket but they still had to battle 100 teams to win. Again Great Job. I hope the 09 Heat and the 09 South Charlotte Panthers meet in next weekend's championship game to show Ga and PerfectGame that North Carolina has baseball talent 2nd to none.

By the way, can we please get some more information on the Heat...players, accomplishments, W-L record at the different age groups?

    Heat Showcase Baseball

Heat Showcase Baseball (formally Charlotte Heat Baseball) is drawing players from as far south as Monroe, Wilkes County north, Winston Salem east and Hendersonville west. Scott Himler Manages the organization and Jason Harris is the Head Coach of the organization. Coach Harris is an ex Clemson player, Asst. College coach at Lander University and owner of an indoor baseball facility (7th Inning Stretch). The Heat Showcase team started Fall of 2005 with one team and competed in the 17U Perfect Game WWBA last summer and finished 17th out of 120 teams. Now the organization has (2) 17U teams and a 16U team that are coached by ex Pro and College Baseball Players. This Fall we will be adding another team (4 teams total) and separating them into 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 players.

Below are some of the players that have played for the Heat in the past years and the colleges that they have signed with:

Derek Boliek (Univ. of Richmond), Daniel Coffey (Mars Hill College), Bradley Craig (Surry CC), Zach Daw (Guilford College), Brad Deal (Winthrop Univ.), Brian Dice (Western Carolina), Ben Gibbs (Army), Dustin Harrington (East Carolina Univ.), Trent Rothlin (Clemson Univ.), Josh Severt (Surry CC), Josh Shehan (Surry CC), Luke Smithson (Brevard College)

This year we again have players that are getting alot of attention from college coaches in North and South Carolina. We had a total of 9 current rostered players that made the NC State Games this Year

I think that Braves was wanting some stats on some of the current players not the ones who have graduated.

Thanks recon...that is correct. The Heat is one of the elite programs in our state, yet it is probably the most unheralded. I'd would love to get as much information posted on our board about the players as well as the program.
