    Best available arm ?

    Looked like Tyler Trice tonight.
    Catapano also looked quite effective.
Too bad they were in mop up roles and had to wait till the last two innings to pitch in the CWS.

You had the pitching part pegged, but what do you do with a team that gets 10 hits and only scores 1 run ? I feel bad for Ackley.

Good call. And if that horse is tired or worn out, well just dig those spurs in.

I saw where Fox didn't take our suggestion about Moran :puppy_dog_eyes:

    I just can not get my mind around the thinking that;
    White
    Warren
    Bates
    Harvey
    Moran
    Wooten
are the only Tar Heels worthy of pitching before the 7th inning of the final game.

I'm still a believer of going down with your top guns.

The guys you people mentioned did come in and pitch well in the 7th and 8th, but it's different pitching with a 6-1 defecit. Not the same intensity from the Fresno bats, it's human nature.

UNC's main problem is getting 10 hits and 1 run. I also feel bad for Ackley.

    the few

have to agree, the UNC pitching corps was really narrowed down for the CWS. Innings were hard to come by.

I agree to an extent, I'm just saying that we wouldn't be having this conversation if Warren and Moran and Bates pitched as well as they usually do. Obviously after they get rocked, hindsight's 20/20, maybe we should have gone with other guys.

And some of the blame has to go on the offense. Other than Ackley and Fedroff, did anybody else even have good at bats tonight?

You know, actually, there is so much to be proud of for the Tar Heel nation. The success that they have achieved the last 3 years is nothing short of remarkable. But as fans, we get spoiled. The Denver Bronco's, Buffalo Bill's and Braves' fans can relate to the frustrations of getting to the championship and not winning year after year. But it sure is nice to get there every year.....one of these days!!!!!
