West Stanly/ South Stanly

Hey Langston, come check out round three between South and West tonight in Norwood. These two teams have split during regular season, this is for the Rocky River Conference Tournament championship. It should be a great game. If you do get to come come, you will get to see some of Stanly County's best athletes. It would be worth the drive. The game time is 7:00.

 

Hey Langston.. i think you should do a story on us parents that dont even have kids in High School anymore..

some of us... not me of course can still play a little... and have lots of knowledge for area baseball...

btw.. i'm not from the mountain area , but some people up there do read the observer...they deserve props too...

i watched Braves in Kannapolis last year and he was roaming the hills ... i think he knows everyone...and dont say i said it.. but he is pretty smart ..

if you dont want a story on us .. at least when ya'll do ya voting for POY .. dont base your votes on some scorekeepers books... go watch a game or 3...

West Meck beat Charlotte Catholic 2-0 to win the Conference Tournament and the QC 3A/4A is the only conference tournament that didn't even get a mention in the Observer about the Championship game.

West has battles Catholic all year and met them for the 3rd time Wednesday night. West took the first game 9-5, and Catholic took the second game 9-8 with 4 runs in the top of the 7th to win the conference.

Wednesday night the game was at Harding but the lights went out just minutes before game time so we had to ride over to West Meck for the game. It was a pitching duel from the get go with the only runs being scored late in the game. B.J. Bowen and Ian Sidebottom pitched BRILLIANTLY to hold Catholic to only 4 hits and 0 runs. West Meck also had ZERO errors and played flawless defense.

I get up in the morning hoping to see a little article about the QC 3A/4A Regular Season Championship and got nothing. Then I wake up and hope to see a little something about West Meck winning their Conference Tournament and still there's nothing. You'd figure since the Observer came over to West to do that Story about how they've come around this year that they'd maybe put a LITTLE something in the paper about 2 great games that were played with something at stake.

WM gets zero respect from anybody.

West hosts South Caldwell Tuesday for their first State Playoff game since 2001.

 

It is amazing what the Indians have accomplished this year. I congratulate them for what they have achieved.

I'll tell you this...if West Meck can pull off the upset against South Caldwell, they will get major respect

No offense, West has had a great year but in the division they played in, they should have won and when they ventured outside the conference against some of the othe schools in Charlotte, it wasn't pretty...check back on the scores.
South Caldwell unfortunately will show West how far they have come!
DOn't get me wrong, I am happy for the program but I would just sit back and enjoy and not worry about print until they really step over the hump! They have had a great year!! but.......
