High School Athletic Asociation wants to run state-wide youth sports

That is something that is long overdue.

One other thing I might add is the gov't can smell money. When they see the revenue that can be generated by sponsoring softball tournaments, or any other youth sports tournament, it won't be the Cardinals Classic Showcase anymore, it will by The City of Raleigh Showcase Tournament.
When I see articles like the one "phreak" posted, the writing is on the wall.

One final note....if this economy doesn't get better and school boards across the state start cutting money for non revenue sports and parents have to start paying for it, that is going to take money out of the TB pockets. I hate to sound like doom and gloom, but something has got to give.
