What a great story. Another inspirational look at the depth of the bonds created by the game we all love. Some say baseball builds character, I say baseball provides the opportunity for character to shine through.

We play SM tonight and I am absolutely looking forward to watching and cheering the "Cheese" dance.

Having known Tyler & Cheese for the past couple of years, this article was a great read. All of us at SM know about Cheese and what he means to the program. At last years Baseball Banquet, Tyler presently Cheese with a special gift from all the players on the team. Cheese was presently surprised with the presentation and you could see the bond the two have developed. We are looking forward to watching Cheese do his thing one last time at SM tonight.:trophy:

    Me too!!!!

If you've been to any South Caldwell games over the previous 4 years you will have seen Jake Brown. He was our "cheese". He was our mascot in uniform for all football and basketball games. And was always there for baseball as well. He has moved on to CCC&TI as his real life brother has moved on the Western Carolina playing football. I miss him every game and reading this, makes me miss him all the more. It's amazing the lessons these special people bring (and the hearts they touch) to those around them.

    Miss you Jake!! Go Carolina!!
(Jake has become the ultimate Carolina fan I hear!!)

    Great story!

Those guys will remember "Cheese" and what he meant to them and the team for a lifetime. It's great when we can celebrate our differences and special gifts. And what better place than on a baseball field!

Cheese was a dancing fool tonight! He also threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Tyler and then proceeded to give him a huge hug. He came over and totally engaged the Weddington side in his second dance. What a great night for him. He had the crowds on both sides going wild.

    Here are some pics.
