Why won't coaches and AD's answer emails? I usually ask for rosters or schedules and occasionally media access but don't get a response.

    What's up with that?

It's not only softball, but I still don't understand the lack of response.I thought
it was about the athletes not the coaches.

    Not limited to HS

:iagree:Shutterbug is right, but it is not only High schools that have the problem, it happens with the Middle Schools also.

I will have to say I have had good responses from the AD's at the middle schools I have corresponded with. The coaches at the HS and MS have never returned an email or phone call to me. Sadly, if I were to base my opinion of these people/coaches as professionals, it would be a VERY Poor reflection on their level of professionalism.

It's sad that you can email a college coach 1000's of miles away that you have no real connection to and get a response in a reasonable amount of time, but the local HS/MS coach can't take the time to respond EVER!! :disappointed:

    Prior Yes, But Now !!!

My DD's prior coach / AD I would have to agree, but her coach and AD now answers every email I send, and answers it in a timely fashion. I think when you put someting in writing it can be forwarded and incriminating, :39:that's why the coaches / AD's don't respond to certain emails !!!

Let's see, they are afraid that their response to an email can be used against them? What would you suppose could be the driver for such paranoia?

Do the schools not post their schedules and rosters on the school websites? I have never not received a reply, but I admit that I have a relationship with many.

If you are asking for media access, they want you to go through the NCHAA to receive a card. But if you are wanting a pass to get into just a game, tell them you are taking pictures for TBR and address it to the Principal. They are very helpful.

While most schools have a web site, they are usually not maintained and cause more confusion than not. I've never been able to figure that one out either. It's not that hard to post a schedule and at least keep it current to the right year. For some reason, schools are very reluctant for people outside of the faculty to help with the admin stuff like that.

Wow, that's sad. I know many of the HS baseball websites are found on "eteams". Someone connected to the program has taken the time to start their own and many of them are done very, very well.

I have designed and maintain several sites on eteamz for travel teams as well as a stand alone site for our horse farm. You will find that a lot of schools will not grant permission for an individual to create a site affiliated with the school. I have my opinions that it is typically a case of insecurity as opposed to a concern over security, if you know what I mean.

A couple of familiar names there. I graduated from Hoggard and almost went to North Wilkes when I lived in that part of the state. I opted to go to Wilkes Central instead. Then we moved to Wilmington. God, I miss the mountains.....:frown:
I don't know that it would be illegal to start one without permission from the school, but it would make the flow of information alot easier if they were on board with you. I guess there could also be some issues with media pemission and parents. But I would think not.
