This doesn't come as a big surprise, but .......... this is information I just received from a very reliable source concerning the first half of the SW4A conference games.

Starting with the beginning of the conference season, (instead of single games for the first half) ...... both the JV and Varsity will start playing doubleheaders.

    Thoughts???????????????

    This

should be good for the home field support clubs. Many times in JV games there would be no concessions and even lack of fans. This would help with both.

Nevermind the cost savings, I love it! I love to watch the up and comers before the Varsity game.

But I would be remiss not to point out the new vendor at all the HS fields in CMS:

    Braves' Short Term Heater Rentals

They are at great prices and assorted colors to match your team's logo.

*there is a small additional charge for games lasting longer than 7 innings

If your looking to franchise this product, ..... count me in! 9:00 PM in early March should be real interesting for the hitters. ADVANTAGE .... Pitchers!:pepper:

    Start times

I beleive this JV/Varsity DH includes all CMS games including SW4A/MECA/Queen City interconferece games as well beginning the week of 3/9.

    Going to be interesting!

Just got in from our conference meeting and the doubleheaders are true BUT no new inning of a JV will start after 6:20 pm. With the cold night games I bet alot of umpires volunteer this year for JV games. lol.

Great plan. JV can learn a lot from watching the Varsity. They also are very skilled at chasing foul balls and raking fields.

The NPC 3A has done this for a few years. It works pretty well, and saves alot of money if you want it too. Our school still takes 2 busses, JV early Varsity later. We only had a couple games end early due to time limits, and at our rivals, the umpires let them play a little late if needed. Most of the JV team must leave before varsity is over to do homework, but most stay for at least a few innings and have the opportunity to learn from the Varsity. There is no added fan support since the JV usually ends a good while before varsity starts, and there often is no concessios.
