    Mount Pleasant tops South Stanly!

    Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team for their HUGE victory over conference rival South Stanly. South Stanly was ranked #9 in the state coaches poll in the 1A classification. Mt. Pleasant is ranked #10 in the 2A poll.

    It was a pitchers duel until the top of the 6th inning. After a strikeout, Lindsey Huneycutt followed with a walk and after another strikeout, ALLISON STARNES drilled a shot over the left field fence for a Two run Homerun !!!!! It gave Allison the game winning RBIs. Way to go Allison !!

    Gotta give credit to South Stanly pitcher Nikki Whitley. Incredible performance on the mound striking out 15 MPHS batters! Absolutely one of the best pitchers around!!! MPHS averages 12 runs per game generally which speaks volumes about her performance! Great Job.........

    Leading Hitters were:

    Allison Starnes - 2 for 3 at the plate with a single to go along with her 2-Run Homerun and 2 RBI's.
    Georgia Parker - 1 for 3 at the plate with a single in the first inning.

    The winning pitcher was Taylor Carpenter. She pitched all 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 walk and striking out 4.

    Way to go Ladies !!!!! Undefeated through the first run of conference games.

    Mt. Pleasant 12-0 overall, 9-0 in the RRC.

    Next game- Monday at home against J.M. Robinson

    Mooresville 0

    Mooresville had 4 hits
    Hope Smith went 2/3 with a single and a triple
    Megan Hillard and Chelsea Little each had singles

    Mooresville has a young team. They have had some close games but just can't seem to pull out another win.

    Taylor Beam pitched a good game for NWC

    Harrelson drove in Logan Weiss and Tabitha Williford in this 12 inning game. Sure fastpitchndad will fill us in on more.

    Northwood bounced back from their loss to Graham last week to win their two games in the Charger Invitational on Saturday by defeating Chatham Central and Northern Durham.

    WP in the first game was Lauren Martin. WP in the second was Carrie Webster.

    What an awesome day of softball!

    Kayla Kincaid hit a grand slam with 2 outs and Watauga down 7-6 and time expired.
