This was a good game. LN home team, bottom of 7th, tied 2-2 and LN was able to bring it home. Good work ladies!

Actually it was Kayla Shelton that hit to the fence to bring in the tying runs. Holly Hudson came later to hit another 2 runs in. Great game by both teams. Excellent pitching by Dakota Icard. Kayla Shelton and Taylor Burkehalter displayed precise teamwork at SS and third that brought several outs on steals. Outfielders- Alicia Byrd, Alex Abernathy and Ashley Shelton worked great together by catching most of the hard hits from McDowell. Good show of spirit by McDowell pitcher Kasey Pendley after taking a hard hit line drive to her leg off of K. Shelton. Pendley finished the game though she was in obvious pain. After a brief moment in the dark when the lights suddenly went out, EB finished the inning 6-3. McDowell came back to score on more run with a final score of 6-4. Fantastic game! :xyxthumbs:

do not have the book here at school with me to give the rest of the stats, but with the exception of the 1st inning against HT South's defense played real well these two games, and Kelsey did an outstanding job pitching.

Amber Benton, fresman, was 2 walks shy of a perfect game. She recorded 8 K's in the effort.
Kerstine Womack took the loss with 5 K's and 8 hits.

Westerns bats were hot and a few errors helped in giving HC thier first loss of the season.
