    I definitely wouldn't call them upsets either. Carson is a good team. They hit the ball well and defensively they are solid. We out hit them tonight by a lot but we didn't get the runs across the plate when we needed to. I think we might have had 8 or 10 LOB. After seeing them it was clear that pitching was the only reason they didn't do better in conference play. This is the 3rd year in a row we have been knocked out by a NPIED conf team (West Rowan, Lake Norman and Carson) That conference is very good and deep. It was a just very good game tonight played between two good teams.

    I went and watched the end of the Weddington/South Rowan game and South can play with anyone also. There was a kid that hit one on top of the hill in straight away center and if anyone has been out to Weddington....that is a SHOT!

    Good luck to Carson and the rest of the teams left in the tourney.

    NW wins against SW Randolph 10-0 in 5 innings tonight. Rob Bain had his usual good outing and was supported by some timely hitting in the 4th. The Trojans host West Iredell on Tuesday.

    Mallard Creek beat West Meck 14-3 tonight. The mavericks came out hitting and broke open a 1-1 game in the fourth inning. Kirl Morgan had 3 hits, Mikal Hill had 3 hits ( double, HR ) and 7 rbi's, Jamel Harbison 3 hits ( double, triple) Diego Perez, 3 hits ( double) 2 rbi's, PJ Smith 3 hits. Tyler McCarthy was the winning pitcher as he pitched a complete game.
