Steelcleats, get your teams right. Mt. Pleasant played A.L.Brown tonight not J.M. Robinson. Mt.Pleasant won 17-2 in 3 innings. We play Robinson next week.

    Thanks !!!

I think this may be the score from the baseball game last night. Softball doesn't play MP again until next Tuesday.

[IMG] Bandys’ Taylor Sigmon went 4-for-4 from the
    plate in Tuesday’s game, including a two-run
homer in the bottom of the third inning.
The Lady Trojans won the game and improve
    to 8-0 in the CVAC.

Taylor Sigmon was in a bit of a slump at the plate entering Tuesday’s softball game against Newton-Conover.
When the game was over, she left little doubt that she had found her swing.
The junior drove in four RBIs and blasted four hits, including three doubles and a home run, lifting the Lady Trojans to their eighth conference victory.
“I was under a lot of the balls that I hit deep today,” Sigmon said. “I was just glad I finally got a few hits. It has been a while. I was 0-for-3 and 0-for-2 in the last two games. I’ve been needing a hit. I worked really hard this weekend, so that I could get some hits in. I guess it paid off.”
The Lady Trojans (12-2, 8-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind the bat of Sigmon. She doubled in the bottom of the first to score Katie Carpenter.
Sigmon added a two-run homer in the bottom of the third inning.
Newton-Conover (4-10, 1-8) fought back valiantly to pull within one run.
The Lady Red Devils scored in the fourth inning. Danesha Baker, Raven Coulter and Haley Self singled on three straight plate appearances. Self’s single plated Baker to make it a 3-1 deficit.
A double from Catherine Jones in the top of the fifth scored Briana Alston from third to make it a one-run game.
After a pitching change, Sigmon took the mound and was able to get two outs. That stranded two Lady Red Devils on base.
“Newton-Conover has some good hitters on their team,” Sigmon said. “We couldn’t just stop playing because we only had three runs.”
Bandys responded in a positive way in the bottom of the fifth. The Lady Trojans scored four runs on three doubles from Sigmon, Scarlett Harris and Kelsey Clark.
“Sometimes urgency brings success,” said Bandys coach Mike Carpenter. “When they figured out that they weren’t playing up to expectations, along with some encouragement from me, it seems to get their attention.”
Sigmon doubled for the third time in the game in the bottom of the sixth, which scored the Trojans’ eighth run.
