    Ladies,

In a few weeks I will see my final softball game with many you. But I want you to know that whatever you choose in the future I will be cheering you on.

You have picked up tools on these fields over the years that you will use for the rest of your life. My last conscious thoughts will be of the days that I was there to watch you play in person.

In my memory I will hear again the crack of bats, the rattle of the backstop, the mutter on the ballfield. I will see that diving catch, the towering homerun, that increditable play at home plate, and many other fantastic plays that you have made.

    Thanks very much ladies!

Beginning in my daughters sophmore season, she began struggling with the decision, did she wanted to play at the next level. It was a on again off again courtship.

Her father and I finally sat her down and ask her "When you walk off your homefield for the last time, after you last home game, will you be content to say your through with your softball career?"

Well, last night was the last home game, all the tears were shed, the team all went out to celebrate. She arrived home about 10 pm. We had one of those late night talks. The words were music to our ears. I quote--"Thank you for your encouragment, I am glad I'm playing ball in college, because now I know I'm not through yet."

Good luck to all 2005 SENIORS as you persuit life in whatever way you have chosen!!

Awesome, my daughter was discouraged in HS, in fact an injury she received in her senior year did not allow her to play summer ball, she basically walked away from the game. However a college coach contacted her convinced her to come to his school to play softball and she made second team all CVAC this year as a freshman, hitting .377 in conference. We kept telling her she had the ability and the love of the game, she just needed to play for her and her teammates and enjoy the game. Glad to say it worked!

Comet Fan want to say, U are one of the most dedicated and loving people I have ever met. U really care about all the kids and it is coaches like U that build character, honesty, and sportmanship in these kids! Thanks from me and the Lady Blues for burning a path for us to follow! A Few Words of Wisdom

A man who has committed a mistake and doesn't correct it is committing another mistake.

By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is the easiest; and third, by experience, which is the bitterest.

He does not preach what he practices till he has practiced what he preaches.

He who wishes to secure the good of others has already secured his own.

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fall.

Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his action.

To know that one knows what one knows, and to know that one doesn't know what one doesn't know, there lies true wisdom.

To practice five things under all circumstances constitutes perfect virtue; these five are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness, and kindness.

To see what is right, and not do it, is want of courage, or of principle.

When you know a thing, to hold that you know it; and when you do not know a thing, to allow that you do not know it--this is knowledge.

All that you see or seem, is but a dream within a dream.

He, who muddies his own stream of life, should not complain when forced to drink of the dirty water.

Beauty of whatever kind, in its supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, and dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

I have great faith in fools - self-confidence my friends call it.

Man's real life is happy, chiefly because he is ever expecting that it soon will be so.

To vilify a great man is the readiest way in which a little man can himself attain greatness.

With me poetry has not been a purpose, but a passion.

That man is not truly brave who is afraid either to seem or to be, when it suits him, a coward.

There is something in the unselfish and self-sacrificing love of a brute, which goes directly to the heart of him who has had frequent occasion to test the paltry friendship and gossamer fidelity of mere Man.

The nose of a mob is its imagination. By this, at any time, it can be quietly led.

A person starts to live when he can live outside himself.

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would in deed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.

Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.

Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.

Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date.

This above all: to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.

The best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
One can never consent to creep when one feels the impulse to soar.

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

Four things to learn in life: To think clearly without hurry or confusion; to love everybody sincerely; to act in everything with the highest motives; to trust God unhesitatingly.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It's what sunflowers do.

Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.

    Courage is grace under pressure.

    Never confuse movement with action.

I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.
