    Mount Pleasant wraps up RRC Championship and #1 spot from the conference in the state playoffs with a 9-2 victory over N. Stanly yesterday evening at North. This is Mounts first ever fastpitch championship, and first softball championship since 1994 !

    Winning pitcher Kelly Furr-4 hitter, Offense led by Brittany Cantrell (3 hits, HR, 2b, 3rbi)Kelly Furr (3 hits, 2- 2b, 2rbi) Michelle Steadman (3hits, 2 rbi) Hannah Clark (2 hits, 2b, 2walks, rbi, 3 runs scored)

    Great group of upperclassmen, along with some pretty special young-uns !

    Record: 18-3, 10-1 RRC

    Today at Forest Hills 4:15, Thursday at Albemarle 4:15

    Next week RRC Tourney at West Stanly

    Congratulations Mount Pleasant. A job well done. MP2 keep us posted on game times for the tournament. I hope it is where I can see MP play again. Our tournament is next week also.

    Thanks to everyone for the congrats and well wishes on the RRC title ! The kids have worked hard, and it has been a long time coming. Looking forward to the RRC Tourney, and seeing everyone at West Stanly, and then the state playoffs !

    MP lost a very exciting and hard fought 11 inning game to Forest Hills yesterday at FH 2-1. As I have stated on this board before, Forest Hills has a very good team. We enjoy playing them, they have good kids, and good coaches ! The Stewart kid scored the winning run in the 11th with smart base running and determination, she's a player !

    Kelly Furr was the tough luck losing pitcher, going 11 innings giving up only 6 hits. The local paper stated this morning that MP had 14 hits led by Hannah Clark (3hits 2b) Brittany Cantrell (3hits, 2b) Jenna Carpenter (3 hits)

    MP Record: 18-4, 10-2 RRC

    Forbush improved to 21-1 (13-1) to clinch the MVAC 2-A regular season with a 15-0 win over West Caldwell. Conference tourn. starts Monday with the top 4 teams playing home games against the bottom 4. The winners play Tuesday at North Wilkes then the championship game will be Thursday. Anybody needing directions to Traphill don't ask me, I go a different way everytime.
