We played in Fleming Stadium today and while it wasn't my first visit as a player, coach, or fan... it still had that same "feeling". Justin Verlander and Cal Ripken Sr. banners hanging, the NC Baseball Hall of Fame down the LF line, the old school wind-tunnel dugouts, etc... That place is one of the greats in North Carolina. Can't wait to watch the NC Legion State Championship there next summer.

I know we've had this thread before, but it never gets old talking about these old ballparks. What are some of ya'lls favorites?

For some of us old guys who played semi - pro baseball in the 70s and 80s this was a very special place! The west playoffs and the state playoffs were held here with the winner going to Wichita Kansas for the Nationals!

What use to be called Ernie Shore Field, before Wake Forest bought it and changed the name was nice. Many minor league and SEMI-PRO games played there. no such thing as semi-pro now. and guess what, they let high school teams play there on occaision with out charging them an arm and a leg.
