Hit By Ball Or ???

One strike on batter slap hitter steps into top quadrant of batters box to slap the ball, but does not swing at pitch as pitcher throws inside hits batter as she steps toward ball, it appears there is no attempt to avoid inside pitch.... Umpire rules Hit By Pitch,Runner Goes To First Or Come Back To Hit Again ???


Another scenario,batter is leaning into plate, ball comes through the strike zone,and hits batter on elbow...you are the umpire, what's your call ???

Judgement

 

If the ball the slap hitter was making a attempt to slap was a strike, then the call should be a strike, but if the call was to be a ball then more than likely she would be awarded 1st base

Same applies, if the batter is hit by a pitch by a ball in the strike zone, then the call is "STRIKE"
