I'm here to to find out about what you the experts think of varius hitting training tools. There are some that are designed to increase bat speed. Some designed for hitting the ball in the middle. Don't limit this to on field equipment. Include software etc. I've seen thunder sticks, used with golf wiffle balls. What about Easton's Torpedo bat, or the Hittn Stick. Please include drills used with all tools.

Saw a tool that Coach Charlie Dobbins was working on producing, wooden bat with notch cut out on end, seamless wiffle balls on stainless wire rope, teaches you to keep hands on top during impact. eliminates that weak grounder to right side of infield.

    Bunting Technique....

try this out, it works especially with the young players. Have a batter in the proper bunting stance see slow lobs to her bat. Emphasis is this, use the right hand thumb as a sight guide to follow the path of the ball. For the little ones I start out the drill by joking around with the kids as if we were playing shootout, you know, the thumb up and the index finger point in the direction of the object. Its simple. When the player is comfortable, increase the speed of the ball.

    Also about bunting tech.

I forgot to mention keep nose over thumb to follow path of ball. That part of the drill helps in recognizing the good pitches to attempt to lay one down and also the ones to lay off of. If the nose is over the thumb then there is no way a kid can throw her hands out or up at a bad pitch. You'll be suprized out how easy this is for the kids.

    Great tool

Marlin that is an excellent drill. I would think that this would also help a batter see the ball better and to practice watching the ball hit the bat.
