I have 2 that I think are pretty cool....

The first is not about my 'birth' son, but about my 'baseball' sons as a team. Last year one of our top pitchers in his first outing hurt his arm and had to have TommyJohn surgery. In a scrimmage last week, he got to throw his first inning in almost a year. He was pretty emotional before he went out on the field. He could only throw at about 80%, but he did awesome. His curve ball really looked good and he struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced. After the inning and before he could even get off the playing field, all of his teammates were out of the dugout and all the field embracing him and congratulating him on a great inning! Now that's what I consider a team and an awesome part of baseball! :cheer:

The second about my birth son... last night in his first at bat, he hit what appeared to be a routine long fly ball. However with the crazy temps. and high winds that we were enduring, the wind played tricks with it and the outfielder did everything he could but couldn't get to it. Almost before the ball reached the ground, my son was standing on second. I was so proud because many times I have seen the same thing happen and a batter jog to 1st. However last night, because of effort ...a double (although not a pretty one:smile:) led to him scoring the first run of the game! :N1Greatjob02:

Mine not so good lol 1-4 at the plate with 3 k's i was HIGHLY dissapointed. But was proud when he said it was his own fault not the umpires because he was not focused enough at the plate. Shows great sign of growing up and taking the blame instead of putting the blame on the boys in blue!

    Thats

one of the best posts I have ever read on this site. Too many times we only hear from people when their team wins or their son has a good game. The only way you can make sure you wont strike out is to quit playing the game. Every player has games like this I dont care how good they are. The game of baseball will humble you sooner or later but it will happen. And it will give you great joy as well. The trick is to understand that just getting the opportunity to play this great game makes you a winner every time out. Your never as good as you think you are after a great game and your never as bad as you think you are after a bad one. The only thing that matters is you get your butt back in that batters box and man up.

You can never truly appreciate the moutain tops of baseball until you have spent some time in the valley of the game. Your son will bounce back and he will be successful. He has the Baseball Gods in his corner for showing the respect to the umpires and the game itself!
