    What dad says: "My son throws 90"

    What you hear: "This kid's son throws somewhere in the mid-80s."

    What actually happened: On a warm summer day with ideal baseball conditions, the Stalker Radar gun was low on batteries and was ±2 mph on every read. Little Johnny ranged from 82-87 and hit 89 once and never hit 88.

    The fact is, not many folk at HS baseball games actually see pitchers throwing in the 90s,,,,,,,,,, and the next time your at a game when someones says the kid is throwing 90, here's a simple test,,,,,, is he walking batters because he is trying to get them out with his curveball? If so, he aint got 90 in his arsenal.
