Left handed slapper makes contact with the ball while her front foot is completely outside of the batters box. What is the rule? I must be confused!

If her whole foot is out of the box and she hits = OUT

    Thank You!

That is what I thought. Didn't get the call, twice yesterday. Good thing we still won the game or I would have been really upset. Thanks for the info SC.

    Slappers

Was font foot on the ground completely outside box? Was box drawn correctly(4 ft. from middle of plate)? Some of the best slappers I've seen have back foot at very front of box on the ground and front foot already half way to first, not touching the ground when contact is made. This is how they reach in 2.5 seconds. One foot Must be completely outside of box touching the ground and the umpire must see it and understand the ruling. There inlies the problem.

    Yep!

The front foot completely out of the box and on the ground, her foot was almost on the front corner of the plate about six inches out front of the plate.
The box was correct I'm the one who fabricated the expensive aluminum templates for both the softball and baseball teams this season. Oh well, maybe we will get the call next time.

Did you bring it to the ump's attention? My opinion here, but if you bring it to the ump's attention and are civil about it, maybe the ump will look for it the rest of the game.

If her foot is all the way out, she is out as soon as contact is made.

    Yes!

It was very obvious, the catcher first brought it to the umpires attention in a civil manor, the first time it happened. Same batter next time up, did it again. Cleat print was clear enough to make the call both times, I know it is hard for the official to see everything, epically when trying to call balls/strikes, fortunately it did not effect the outcome of the game.
