    Depressing....

    1 New head coach
    2 Seniors(1 returning starter)
    4 Returners(not all starters)
    3 TB players(2 16s/ 1 14)
= just have to wait and see.

Had three show up that had never even made a middle school team. One didn't have glove or cleats.

Makings for a long rebuilding year.

Ha Your Daughter isn't at North Iredell is she?? HAHA....Wish I could report something from Raiderland but my daughter is finishing up basketball......She tried to go out there after practice but coach said it wasn't necessary. I do know numbers for "quality" players is down. May result in only one team at North Iredell. 5th coach in 5 years........1 pitcher......very few seniors....Should be an experience.....HOPEFULLY a good one.....

I think everybody here has dealt with this sorta thing before. Yeah, it always looks bleak. But it sure makes for an even more rewarding feeling when some of the light bulbs start coming on and you see that grin on a young lady that turns the corner and suddenly "gets it". Man, I don't know about you guys, but that's when it's all worth it. Not the big victorys, but the little ones.

Sounded like my first year at Freedom.
Thankfully we had a decent turnout yesterday.

    17 jv's practiced from 3pm-5pm
11 varsity players(5 missing) went from 5pm-8pm under the lights. I have double duty this week as a basketball assistant.

Our first day at Sun Valley was awesome. We had 20+ girls all working hard at getting better. My now Junior class is starting to pay off from them all starting as Freshman 2 years ago. Like all teams...it comes down to pitching!

I look forward to being on the field every day with these young ladies. They work hard in the classrooms just as they do on the field.

I am waiting on several girls to finish up with basketball as well.

    numbers down, day 2

I guess we ran them too hard yesterday, had three quit! Mixed up running/conditioning a little more today then more infield outfield after they were tired....so much for wrestling coaches in softball.

    Practice Times

How long does everyone practice? We went 5pm - 8pm on Monday, 3:00-5:30 today and we're going 3:00-5:30 and then 6:30-8:30 on Wednesday. Just wondering how long most of you go.. We do have a scrimmage to get ready for on Saturday..

3:15 till 6:30 except today, rain forcast, will do 3:15 to 5:15 inside running and throwing drills. saturday practice is from 10:00am to 2:00pm and we feed them - mostly hitting drills, live pitching from our pitching coach and situation plays.....

advice for craze coach - when you lose potential players because they dont like the conditioning, you havent lost anything, dedication and the desire is of the utmost importance right now. give me a kid with average skills, dedication and desire over a "superstar" who doesnt want to work anyday...

i have a freshman, all 4'2" of her, probably didnt hit .050 in middle school, started looking at her eyes, she's right eye dominate, fast as heck on her feet, started teaching her to slap, oh my gawd!!!!!!!! wish someone had picked this up for her in middle school.....my bad, i missed this one......gonna make up for it now....
