    Several comments off the top of my head. First, I congratulate Patrick and others that have commited to Elon. Concern here is: I have heard they have commitments from about 16 now. Anyone else heard anything about that? Also, I agree that Patrick is one of the best pitchers in the state, but the player that Mudcat is talking about is suppose to right there with Patrick but hasn't gotten all the publicity that Patrick has. That would be the player from West Henderson! Congratulations Mike!! Last, has anyone heard where Reid Fronk has commited to? I have heard one story, but don't want to say what I heard until I know it is true.

    1. Mike is a very strong pitcher but his future is probably with his glove and bat...very strong player

    2. Reid Fronk has many options that he is weighing. I know that he is being recruited very heavily by Wake Forest and UNC as well as others...at this time, he has not committed

    Glad to see NCSU signing some NC kids. Last year only 40% of their roster was from NC as compared to the 67% UNC had. UNC Charlotte is also doing better at recruiting NC kids, I believe they are at aound 70%, ECU at about 60%. I am a firm believer that schools being supported by our tax dollars should try to fill their rosters with NC kids as much as possible.

    Congratulations to Matt Payne. Matt performed well and impressed everyone at showcase events this summer. Folks in the Catawba Valley area are quite familiar with Matt's abilities as we have faced that nasty curve ball for years. NCSU gets a great young man who loves the game.

    Matt Payne to NC State:

    State really picked up a good player in Payne. He is a good pitcher/ss. He has a good arm and swings a good bat as well. Come out and see Payne in school ball this year at ACHS.

    Heard tonite that Seth Williams from North Henderson is headed to UNC Chapel Hill. It would be another good grab out of the mountains for the Tar Heels.

    Congrats to Ryan Basham, RHP/East Forsyth, on his decision to commit to Elon. It came down to a couple of quality programs and offers in the end but I think he made a good decision.

    Also, congrats to Lowell and Kim. Seems like they did alright.

    Best of luck to a well-deserved player with a extremely bright future. He's going to be a good one! Good Job Bash!
