So Hickory wins the one-game playoff and gets to play anumber one seed, Pineville; Wilkes loses the playoff and gets to play a number 2 seed, Shelby. Neither is a picnic for sure, but do you think they even considered re-seeding?

For Huntersville, when the legion playoffs started and dual participation was no longer allowed, I know of at least two of their players that chose to go to showcases that weekend. Could have been another one or two.

Show a little respect and loyality to your TEAM. This is not about Legion vs Showcase, this is about if you make a commitment then honor it!! If you are not going to be there for your teammates then don't take up a spot on the roster. I guess you first have to look at the coach for allowing it to happen....he should have ended the problem long before the playoffs.

We just had this same discussion at lunch today. It's not fair to either team if you're trying to be two places at once. Make a decision and commit through the end of the season.

I wonder how many players Huntersville had before the deadline to cut the roster down to 18? It would really be sad if coach took a head count before the final cut and made his decision based on who said they would be around. Just thinking out loud............

The coach at Huntersville had the best intentions of fielding a competative team but multiple injuries and one or two mal contents who walked because they didn't like where they were hitting in the order or playing in the field. This team struggle from mid season on to field enough players. It was not just the two team players that caused the problems. The coach at Huntersville did the best job possible with what he had!

I'm not putting all the blame on the coach...but if he didn't allow the dual participation from the begining maybe he wouldn't have the problem. I really put the blame with the players...you know as a player that the playoffs are coming up, why put your TEAM (and teammates that want to play) in jeopardy....Legion playoffs are very important to the players that are not playing "Showcase Ball".

I guess my frustration comes from expecting more from the 17-18yr old young men to uphold their commitments they made a few months ago to their Legion teams....after Legion is over do whatever you want to do...

All the dual participants were up front with the coach about the situation. The bottom line is without the dual participants Huntersville's would not have had a team this year. Most of the young men are very responsible and showed up to play. Most were not the ones who went to the beach or quit because they were not playing a certain position or batting a certain place in the batting order.
