    someone said this was huss 1st ever sb victory over ashbrook.
    i think it was actually 10-9 huss after starting the bottom of the 7th with a 9-6 ashbrook lead.
    two pretty evenly matched teams. mistakes on both sides. awesome plays on both. and some VERY bad calls by the umps (again both ways)

    i thought running to 1st inside the baseline was auomatic out - but does the ball have to make contact with the runner to trigger that call?

    This is true JJ, in the history of recorded softball, fastpitch that is, huss has never beaten ashbrook. my dd had seven 1-0 losses against ashbrook facing her long time rival kayla short(upstate/belmont abbey) and they always made it a game.

    gabby carnes always bought out the best in his players.

    sad to see him gone.
