an autographed baseball by Enos Slaughter. I got a little boy who comes to our warehouse, who's dad owns a tobacco warehouse who used to deal with Enos Slaughter, and he gave me a ball signed by him. I don't have much memorabilia (sp?), but he is a hall of famer. Anybody got any good stuff? and how you got it? My father in law has a signed Ted Williams photo.

    I have several things....

Over the years, I have collected many things from pictures, to baseball memrobilia. My collection consists of the following:

Autographed photos of Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, GHW Bush, Clinton (he signed it last spring in Roxboro a photo taken of him campaigning in GRaham in 1992. I have about 50 autographed baseballs, a novelty bat signed by Trot Nixon, and a football signed by Roger Staubauch. I also have several autographed books from Tony Dungy (a friend of mine that coaches with the colts got that one for me) and a couple of books signed by Jimmy Carter.

Off the top of my head some of my signed baseballs include:
    Enos Slaughter
    Ken Griffey, Jr
Brooks Robinson, JOhnny Bench, Greg Maddux
    Pete Rose (my favorite player)
Hop A Long Cassidy (Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner and coach with the Yankees AAA team)
Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, John Smoltz, Andrew Jones, Cal Ripken Jr,
The Danville Braves Rookie Team when A. Jones, David Wright, and John Rocker were there.
JOsh Hamilton, Jerry NArron, Bobby Richardson, Dan Larsen and Yogi Berra.
KLesko, Clemens, Nolan Ryan, Sidney Ponson, Darren Bragg, Wade Boggs,

I do have a pic of myself and the asst coach of the colts I know in front of Peyton MAnning's LOcker at the Colts practice facility.

These are off the top of my head..

The former Presidents, I wrote them and they responded. I have 1 Clinton Photo he signed in Roxboro while campaigning for HIllary
I have met BRooks Robinson, Bobby Richardson, Enos Slaughter, Hopalong Cassidy (after a game vs the Bulls), Tommy John (at the baseball bash), these I have talked baseball with. A few others I met at card show and had autographs. A friend of mine had a condo near Pete Rose's restaurant in Boca Raton and he went and talked baseball with him and git that aurograph. THe A. Jones on the rookie ball was before he changed his signature.

The Staubauch football was a gift from a parent of one of my players that managed a Brendles in Durham when Staubauch stopped by on the way to watch his son play baseball at Duke. The only thing is he signed the ball "To Tom" (my wife's name is Tommie Jean) and the dad got confused. But we always get laughs out of it.

    Rod Carew
    Dusty Baker
    Yaz
Carlton Fisk (as a very young player)
    Phil Neikro

Do you happen to have dbacks 1910 rookie card? That would be cool!

    or

Prepster's 1959 back of a Kellogg's Sugar Smacks cereal box rookie card?

Don't we all wish we had Mom's that saved our old cards. But what was funny was the decisions made on what cards we allowed ro be used on our bicycle spokes....I think Harvey Haddix and Prepster were my favorite one's used.

I have some memorabilia, none of which compares to the above; but I do have a really cool story.

I have always been a Red Sox fan and followed them closely my whole life. I played in some events with Trot Nixon when I was in high school. In 2003, the Red Sox were playing the Yankees in the ALCS. My aunt worked for Gillette in Boston and was had gotten me tickets for regular season games before. Needless to say, I was "working" her pretty hard for some ALCS seats, but she wasn't having any luck finding any. The night before game 6, she calls and says she had gotten tickets through a friend, but they weren't in Boston, they were in Yankee Stadium. I said to her that we would take them, so the wife and I flew to New York for the game.

We went to the game, which the Sox won, and went back to our hotel to eat dinner in Shula's Steakhouse which was located onsite. We had just ordered, when Trot walked in. He, by the way, had homered in the game we had just watched. I went up to him and started talking about old times and found out the Red Sox team was staying in our hotel. The hostess walked up and ask him where they wanted "their" table and he said "right hear is fine" pointing at the table adjacent to ours. Then most of the Red Sox players and their wives or significant others started filing in. It was pretty neat seeing how loose these guys were before game 7 of the ALCS against their heated rivals. Everyone was really cordial and it was a great memory. They thought it was pretty neat we had flown in from NC for one game. Needless to say, I really could have scored some memorabilia, but I didn't think it was the time or the place.

The next morning, I got up and went down to the front desk to get a newspaper. The person at the desk went to find one for me. I turned around just to see what was going on and Manny Ramirez was standing behind me in his pajamas. I was kind of startled and I guess he could tell and he proceded to say, "What's up, man"? with his Caribbean accent.

    Good times!
