    Any schools in charlotte or near by counties that offers field hockey or rec programs that offer it. That is one of my daughters other sports and I can't find anything but 1 private school that offers it.

    Any help would be apprecaited.

    Field Hockey???

    would love to help ya, but the closest gaston county schools come to this is when someone gets hit by a stick in the parking lot, or a fore arm check in softball. have called two people, this is a young and growing sport in north carolina, pretty much restricted to the raleigh area, schools listed are East chapel hill, jordan, chapel hill and riverside. long drive dont ya think??

    The only high school that I know of with a field hockey program is Asheville High.
    That doesn't help if you are in Charlotte, though.

    thanks storm, was hoping an area school had it, would like to go see a game of this, played hockey in hs and yes, i still have my original teeth - lol

    At least 3 private high schools in Charlotte play field hockey - Charlotte Country Day, Charlotte Latin and Providence Day. According to the Country Day website they have 7th grade, 8th grade JV and Varsity teams. The JV team had Myers Park HS on their schedule.

    According to the Myers Park website, they play a full season of high school field hockey against mostly private schools but also against Winston-Salem RJ Rynolds and Durham Rivershide. East Chapel Hill and Mt. Tabor are two other public schools that play field hockey.

    Great sport to watch. Very popular up in the Northern states. No wimps allowed that's for sure. Girls really have to be tough.

    I appreciate the information information. If you have never seen a field hockey game, go check it out, it's fun and if you have an intense group of girls. You're in for a real treat.
