    Leading Hitters: SCP - Tyler Vogler (08 Mt. Tabor) 2-3 (2B; ball went over the fence but the umpires were having trouble with dirt in their eyes); Ben Redmond (08 North Davidson) 2-2.

    2007/2008 SC Panthers share third place with the East Cobb Cubs.


    The SC Panthers 2007 and 2009 teams travel to Puerto Rico this week where they will face teams from the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and the Puerto Rican Legion All Star team in an end of summer season trip.

    The SCP 2008/2009 team will resume play in late August.

    The ball did not clear the wall... It hit the yellow tubing on the fence. To my understanding those are ground rules some places they use different covering over fences... so some count those as homers and some dont. But that ball in no way cleared the fence. It was smoked dont get me wrong but didnt go out.

    I dont know how much they have left to do, but what they've done is tremendous. I saw the stadium a looooooong time ago before the renovations, but it looks outstanding now. Top notch...

    No disrespect but

    umpires had "dirt in their eyes"??? The SCP run a great program and I love the way they get after it. But 11-0 needs no reference to the umpires. Dirtbags - dirt in their eyes??? Sometimes you just get it handed to you. If they had dirt in their eyes it was probaly from the Dirtbags baserunners rounding the bags so often in this one.

    I dont think you can hit a 11 run HR. At least I have never seen one. The Dirtbags played well and beat a very good Hurricane team in the finals. Good luck to all the teams the rest of the summer.
