The list is due out today, so I want to post a reminder.

    Impact Baseball

Andy Partin has graciously allowed us to answer limited questions concerning his lists.

You may ask: "Where is Joe Shmoe on Impact Baseballs Top-100 list?"

The response: If Joe Shmoe is 4th or 7th on the list, you may answer "Joe is in the Top 10". If Joe Shmoe is is 11th, you may answer "Joe is in the Top 20".

Not absolutes, but relative. The list will not be displayed on this web site. If we discover any list that we have doubts about, it will immediately be deleted upon discovery.

Many services NEVER ALLOW their information to be displayed in such a format. It was very gracious of Andy to allow this much and I know that we appreciate it ... I certainly do.

SO!!!! In summary..... Once the list comes out, you can post a reminder that it is there and a link to the site, but DON'T COPY THE LIST AND PASTE IT HERE !!!!!!!!

Amazing the difference in where On-Deck guys are ranked versus Impact guys considering On-Deck's record was 5-1-1 against Impact and they got much farther down at Jupiter, but whatever. Just one man's opinion and he does bring his own bias into it as all of us would if we have to rank our own guys. No one is totally unbiased and to claim this list is given the above is sort of laughable but like I said, just one man's opinion.

Intimidator--We did go through this last year and thought it was understood why we can't post these things. It is copyrighted material.

We nearly lost our Forum and potentially the WHOLE board because of this earlier in the year. LarryD was not very happy about us and I would hope we don't put him in this situation again.

Please...do not post copyrighted material without permission from the author.

as i said in previous post: email me at [email protected]

and i will see that you get the info requested.

i would think this board would have more fear from the 10,000 other copywrited post instead of this local one.

    just my opinion.

I don't envy Andy the task of rating these players. I do envy the fact that he was able to attend over 100 high school games and see all of these players in action, whether on his team, showcase or whatever. I envy the fact that he can support himself and his new wife doing what he loves! No matter how you try to rank them, there's a bunch of great players in NC.

Tell you what I observed...you could take every third player listed, 1-4-7, 2-5-8, etc., and come up with three teams that could compete with any college in the state within two years of playing together. Fantasy Baseball!!

The difference being that this copyright material "is" local and read by the author..the other 10,000 are not or we would be in the same situation.

If you don't believe me...ask Larry.

Great points ..... I'll tell ya something else.

Ranking the top-15 is easy. Those guys just jump at ya. It's the next 85 that is the work. The differences between player #35 and player #85 could be very minor. The difference is there, but it's weight is determined by experience. How do you gauge players at different positions? It's a tough job.
