    early results are in

    Ragsdale 12
    Rocky Mount 2 5 innings

    :trophy:

Don't have a ton of details other than Bennet Hixon pictched 4 innings for the win and McBride pitched the fifth. Defense apparently played great ( turned several double plays and made several diving catches in the outfield). Rocky Mount had some key errors that hurt them. Sounds like Desean Anderson had a monster game, and that hits came from everywhere in the lineup.

3-0. Two wins over ranked teams and with a super young team.

Thanks to one putt for the info. I'm sure there will be more details later.

The score of this game is very deceiving. Unfortunately Rocky Mount had one mistake with 2 outs that led to 9 runs after that. Leggett was pitching very well. Leggett, Goodwin, Fish and that crew are as good as advertised. If these 2 meet again it could go either way. Ragsdale played near the top of their game and Rocky Mount has had better days. They are much better than they played today. Ragsdale hit all the way through the lineup and made 3 double plays, no errors and three diving plays in the outfield, one by each outfielder. Fish hit one out for RM. Hard to mention just one Ragsdale player as everyone contributed. But my good friend Anderson did have a game. Ragsdale started 4 juniors and 5 sophomores.

Thanks to Andy Partin, Stretchlon, and others for putting on a nice day of baseball at a nice facility. First class all the way. Thank you for including Ragsdale in this event. All of our fans were very impressed.

    Great effort

McIntosh really kept the hitters of balance all day. Slow stuff but well pitched. Had a no hitter into the 6th inning.

Congrats to Coach RV.....what a classy man.

I don't know if I would call it a good hit but we'll take it. He's learned a bunch in a short period of time. And he has miles to go.

It was nice to meet you also. I could see you were busy so I left you alone.

    South Granville vs Greenville Rose

One of the best pitching performances against us in years. McIntosh kept us off balance the entire game with a great cb cu and great location on his fb. I could come on here and say we should have done this and we should have done that but the bottom line is the kid flat out pitched a great game. Nash Blackley got the start for us and he just couldnt find the zone. When he threw strikes he was very good but he just didnt do it often enough. Josh Darroach came in with 2 outs in the third and did a great job keeping us in the ball game.

Coach Vincent and his entire coaching staff are nothing but first class and it was an honor to get the chance to compete against his program. The Rose players played hard and they play the game the right way. They earned the win and I congratuate them on a well played game.

    WP - McIntosh CG 7ip
    LP - Blackley 2 2/3 Darroach 4 1/3

    South Granville vs Whiteville

We saw two extremes today at the USA complex. In our first game we saw a kid that topped out at 74 on his fb but was dominant because he located and changed speeds the entire game. In our game with Whiteville we faced 6'5 hard throwing Micheal Wright (ECU). Pratt Maynard (NCSU) got the start for us on the mound. Micheal struggled with his control a bit and we were able to touch him up for a few runs. Maynard was great throwing 6 2/3 innings giving up 4 hits and striking out ( 17 ) batters. We had 11 hits.

    Final score - South Granville 10 - Whiteville 2
