Sorry Coach, I didn't mean to imply that the errors (I counted 7 or 8?) were the only reason that the Red Sox lost that game. The Cubs did what any quality team would do if you give them extra outs ---- score a damn lot of runs. (15)

For the unofficial record, without the errors, the Cubs still win------but the score would've been a lot more respectable. I don't know the players on your roster so I couldn't give credit where it was due. I know you guys hit a homerun (#4?) and that lefty (#21) can knock the cover off of the ball.

Good luck. Your young team has a very good foundation to build upon and should continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the next few years.

Thank you for your kind words about our team. There is no doubt that you guys really helped us out in that game. There is no way you can say that one team is better than the other in a one game situation. Both teams are very talented. What excites me about the Cubs Jr team is we have only a couple of 07's on the team. The vast majority of the players are 08's. These guys (if they continue to work hard) have a chance to be really good. I did notice a big difference in the Red Sox and Megastars in relation to the Cubs. We carry a large roster 20 guys. The Red Sox and Megastars had 11 or 12 guys. Also the Megastars stuck with the starting pitchers unless they got in real trouble. We never leave a guy in over 3 innings most of the time 2 is the max. We play all posistion players each game and all of them hit every game. Im not saying one way is better than the other, all situations are different. The Red Sox and Megastars teams were well coached and seemed to be well schooled in the fundementals of the game. Also I really like the way the kids handled themselves on the field. No showboat stuff just played the game. Just my observations. Good luck to you guys Lake Norman Fan. You have some very good players.

Thanks Coach. If I sounded a bit overzealous about Sean Cotton's (not my son) long homer it was because he is coming off a serious shoulder injury that has had him sidelined for over a year. This weekend was the first sign that he's almost fully recovered (his Dad was happy too).

Go get'em Cubs. Hope to see you again soon.

    When you said....

"JORDAN CARSTENS (Myers Park) went the distance and pitched well for the Mega-Stars."

Almost, but you were a little bit off. The pitcher's name for the Megastars 18U team is JORDAN CUDNEY (Myers Park). Just wanted to bring attention to the right kid.

P.S. There may actually be a player named Jordan Carstens, but he does not play or pitch on the Megastars 18U team.

Jordan is used to people getting his name wrong....he will be a BIG asset for Myers Park this year and draw a lot of attention on the mound. Good curveball with a "sneaky" fastball.

I agree. Jordan Cudney is an extremely talented pitcher. Very good FB and a nasty curve. Jordan was the best pitcher last year for MP and I expect that will continue. It will be fun to folow MP this year...my dark horse (pun intended) in the SW4A.
