    Congratulations to Tyler Hanover of North Davidson and Jason McEachern of St. Stephens High School on being named Impact Baseball's Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.

    I've heard tons about Tyler and everything he brings to the table as a player and a leader. Unfortunately I have never seen the young man play. I can only assume that he is as good as advertised and is most deserving of this honor.

    As for Jason, as his coach and someone who has known he and his wonderful family for a very long time, I could not be more proud. He is a wonderful talent, intense competitor and above all an outstanding young man.

    Again congratulations to both of these young men for their accomplishments, both past, present and future.

    Tyler Hanover is the "real deal"

    I got to see him play twice this season - he is the real deal.

    Just read in the USA Today that Tyler Hanover was named to the second team for the National High School All-USA teams.
