The top 4 teams in 3A are an eye-lash apart in terms of quality. The difference comes down to the fact that Ashbrook has learned to win the big game. Ashbrook returns their entire team from the 3A state championships. TC Roberson will bounce back strongly after a slightly down year last year. West Rowan may be the most dangerous squad at the plate 1-9. NE Guilford is stacked top-to-bottom.

I can easily see why the pollers put Ashbrook on top as I would have done the same thing. I still think this race is "too close to call".

In the mountains everyone knows TC is loaded this year. Strong hitting 1-9 and 3 high quality starters. Franklin will be older and better this year. Don't count out Tuscola though, they graduated some very good players but they have some back. Asheville High just might challenge for the 3rd playoff spot this year. They have as strong a team as I can remember tham having.

I admit, the primary purpose of my posts are to elicit comment. You're comment is a bit cryptic. Please expand and elucidate. It has to be because you either:

    1) Disagree with the poll
    2) Disagree with my assessment of the top-4
    3) Disagree with Mudcat's assessment of the mountain teams
    4) Are thoroughly enjoying Mudcat's and my biting wit and charming repartee.

    I personnally vote for #4. :D

Being the cryptic reader that I am.....I believe Intimidator was saying that it was funny (unusual, ironic, goofy, misplaced pick)...that A.L. Brown is bringing back an experienced, talented group who will be battling WR for the conference title and they were not on the Pre-Season Poll...and I agree!

Okay..I'll put my cryptic reader back in it's drawer and wait for another one.

With Ryan Marion graduating and moving to the minors, the Lane twins moving on to UNC-Charlotte, and Wes Wrenn now attending Wesleyan, Glenn just lost too much. There are a lot of holes to fill on that team this year. Like the pollsters, I agree that you have to see who steps for them. There are too many other talented teams to vote them up just on history.

Though you are undoubtably correct in your assessment, I'll stay with the "...biting wit and charming repartee". It makes me look better and I need all the help I can get.
