Does not appear to be unfairly stacked to me.

    Question for PiratesScout

Just out of curiosity, what would you have done different to have made things more fair? After all, you failed to mention the Panthers were not in their pool, or the O's-07, or the Sand Gnats 18's.... Does this mean Andy was simply writing off the Dirtbags 17's and Dirtbags 16's? Again, just curious and wondering how it should have been.......

    Since you asked.....

Yes, it does appear that Andy has written off the dirtbags 17's and 16's teams. Probably because this is his last tournament with his older dirtbag team and he wanted them to go out in style. I have seen the majority (85%) of these teams, in the tournament, play at least five times this summer and the Fungo Red Sox is definately not a formidable team. Not to mention the Sand Gnats 16 doesn't pose any threat and the Athletics leave a lot to be desired. The Bandits may give them a decent game but basically Andy won't have to throw any of his top guns until Sunday. Whereas with the Hurricanes, Heat, Tri Arsenal and Cubs, you probably have four of the top eight teams in the same pool. Naturally, just my opinion on what I have witnessed this summer. :stoned2:

    PiratesScout - Logic?

There is NOT an older team. The Dirtbags and Dirtbags 17U are both 17 and under. Do you really follow these teams?
I do not think Andy would write off any of his teams.

    rephrase

I didn't mean to imply that the dirtbags team was full of seniors. What I meant is that this particular team has the most polished (ie kids committed to going to college) players than the other team. So, to end the summer showcase with a bang by winning the Impact World Series.

IMHO... All of the Dirtbags teams have very good players... however, the "Dirtbags" team are the cream of the crop from Impact. In no way am I slighting any of the other Dirtbag players in the least, but that's the way I see it. He has 08 players on that team too. Also a second place finish at East Cobb doesnt hurt either. I would like to seee them against the Sandgnat 18's though... that could be a heckuva game.

what will be the next phase?

It's been showcase for a few years now; things never stay the same. So what can we look for next to evolve in the world of pre-college and pre-pro baseball? what is foreseen for the future? what will be next?

TV...whomever can negotiate TV contracts for a series or a championship, whether on a national, regional or local level, is the future. It's in the infancy stage and will continue to grow.
