I know youre just messing but I'll go on anyway. :icon16:

I wish I had the HS rules to quote but here is NCAA.. again, a lot of these type of rules are generic.

11.16.2.2 The batter is hit by a pitch in the strike zone.
EFFECTThe ball is dead. The pitch is a strike. The batter is declared out if the pitch was a third strike; otherwise, she remains at
bat. Each runner must return to the base legally occupied
at the time of the pitch.

This call is half judgment and half rules...
It is important when you argue this stuff with an ump to get the judgment stuff out of the way first. The judgment is whether the ball was in the strikezone regardless of whether the batter was hit. Once you get the ump to agree that the ball was in the strikezone then you go for rule interpretation. If you go for rule interpretation first then his "judgment" will most likely match his call... It is amazing how many umps really dont study the rules.

lets see, in hs they changed the rule about this about 6 or 7 years ago. if your hands, wrist, elbow were in the strike zone and you were hit by the pitcher, it was a called strike.

this was a rule change everyone was told about before the season, and i know of one game where my daughter pegged a player who had been hanging her hands in the strike zone, crowding the plate.

    called strike.

girl when back in the box and did the same think.

    called third strike.

crowd got ugly as we were away.

next time up, girl was as far off the plate as possible.....i would be too if i just got creamed by two 55+ mph fast balls and didnt make it to first.
