Independence is in good shape to compete in the Meca 8 next season. The key contributors will probably be: Farry, Rockett, McMahon, Nicholson, Cooke, Bray. Farry will be the #1 starter for the team probably with Rockett picking up the 2nd game each week. McMahon behind the plate compares favorably to any catcher in the charlotte area.

Last year, Indy needed some more sticks. They played solid fundamental baseball, but had trouble scoring runs when I saw them. Farry is a solid pitcher and Rockett will be fine also.

They should be a top-3 team in the Meca 8 this season. It may be a little too much to expect for them to grab the top spot. Though Central Cabarrus may be down a little bit, they are always dangerous, the way they swing the bat. North Meck and Hopewell are solid teams. Vance can be dangerous (ask Myers Park). West Meck was playing very good ball at the end of last season and could build on their success.
