The deadline for the winter Southern Star All-Star Showcase is December 10, 2009. There are still spots available but it is filling up fast.
This individual college showcase event has been held each year on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA.

Any girl of high school age with the desiire to play softball in college is eligible to participate. It is not too late for 2010's and never too early for 2011's, 2012's and 2013's to be seen and evaluated.

Girls playing winter sports such as basketball, can request to be on a Sunday only team. This will not interfere with your basketball games. Games for those without conflicts begin around 3 PM on Saturday and continue at 9 AM on Sunday morning. Each girl gets to play 4 games in front of dozens of college coaches.

Being recruited is in your hands! This is an outstanding chance to be seen, don't miss out. For a list of schools that have attended in the past, go to the web site and look on the front page. Many schools in the South use this event in their evaluation process.

For an application to enter, go to the web site and send in a request.

    Monica Abbott and Natasha Whatley

The morning of the Southern Star All-Star Showcase at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA, the GSU clinic has now added another element. Monica Abbott and Natasha Whatley will now be putting on a clinic that morning prior to the start of the Southern Star All-Star Showcase. This was already a great event, now it will be event better. For more information concerning the Abbott and Whatley Clinic check the Georgia Southern Softball web site.

At this point in time the deadline for the January Showcase has passed, but we still have about 8 slots remaining and then the waiting list. Since there are a number of 2010 players attending, there is a chance that players on the waiting list will get in as some of those 2010's make decisions and/or sign with NAIA or JUCO's in January.
