Info on Rowan Co, NC & Florence, SC

This is a request for anyone that might be able to help me with roster info for the Florence, SC Post 1 and Rowan Co. Post 342 teams that will be in Cherryville this weekend for the "North/South" Challenge.

Each number I have tried in Florence is no longer in service, and although I left a message with the Rowan Coach at the only number I could find, (his office @ Catawba Coll) I have not been able to get in touch with anyone. They may be done for the summer.

I am only trying to get this info so that there will be rosters in the press box for the various radio stations and newspapers that may choose to cover the tournament. These are the only 2 teams I don't have. They both play the 1st game Saturday (12:30), so I am hoping someone will have time to contact me so that I have time to type the roster and make the copies prior to the game.

PS. I realize this may be a problem for Rowan since their team may have changed a bit since the East Rowan State Championship run.

Thanks Pirate. Called that # already and they had me go to Catawba's site to get office # for head coach. Looks like I will be doing a hand written roster just prior to the 1st game. Got one name left to try, a Mr. Lowman, but my contact at the Cherryville Legion Office hasn't gotten back to me yet. Thanks again.

 

Bob Lowman is the team manager, but you bring up a good point, that with East Rowan going so far in state HS playoffs, Rowan may not have a final roster yet. They may bring 40 players who are still fighting for jobs to your tournament.

 

Very true. I`m guessing and Jim Gant may keep some guys to get through this tourament. They played wed,thru, and friday at Wilkes which is league game. Two games saturday and one sunday. Alot of baseball and he may use alot of guys. Being non league games help. I think Gant will finalize his lineup after this weekend but I`m guessing.

 

Thanks guys. I will just have to be there early to catch them coming into the parking lot and do the best I can by hand. Just hate that it is the only two I don't have playing first. Oh well, let's just have some fun and enjoy the baseball games!

 

Nugget, look for Rowan's team bus to arrive, and while both Gantt and Lowman are very friendly guys, Coach Gantt is all business right before a game,,, but Bob Lowman will take the time to give you whatever information you need.

 

Thanks. I figured as much. I usually seek out an assistant to assign a player to help me if the assistant doesn't have time.

Was able to get up with Mr. Lowman, and he was indeed very helpful and provided all the info I needed to get a current roster for Post 342!
