thought it would be nice to have a thread to discuss injuries, solutions, rehab, etc............

and i have a this to start it off:

a young pitcher, 12 y/o, small built, skin and bones, alot of leg drive and is experiencing alittle pain with muscle just above the hip(guess its part of the low, lower back too). She didnt have this pain until she started pitching the change-up. Elbow does hit this general area in question and just not sure if this is the cause or could this be a strained/pull of this muscle. Area isnt sore to the touch only discomfort is when pressure(sleeping on that side)is applied. Iced and heat treatment now and have personally have seen an injury similar to this: my DD's hip soreness was caused from the anchor effect(pivot leg draggin on certain pitches)and the hip dragssss thru. Rest, corrected the mechanics, more exercises for the legs and was fine in a couple of weeks. I am concerned, as she is not draggin the whole foot(off the big toe instead) and hips chase the ball nicely. Note: Her landing is close to 5 feet and maybe her conditioning since we have recently moved Outdoors???
Any thoughts, coaches, parents and/or any doctors in the house??? Of course, the doctor is her best option but hopefully i can learn more preventive measures and these types of injuries..

    no doctors on call............

worked again tonite and she is hitting the elbow on the hip with her changeup and we stepped back from that pitch tonite. seen plenty of bruises in that area for years but not this puffy and inflamed. Never complains, range is great, dives so it could be from something else as we have discussed...........thanks for listenin!!!

any injuries to key players from other sports or early season miscues??
