Is anybody besides me having a hard time stomaching all this talk about using instant replay in baseball games. the "talking heads" today are all over mlb about using video to change or get calls right such as the ball that may or may not have gone over and holliday's slide.

call me old fashioned but give me a break. umpires are just as much a part of what i love about the game as anything else. plus can you imagine having to go to the video on every bang bang play. they'll have to cut the season back to 100 games because some of them will take two days to play a game. i can see larussa right now. he'll be out of the dugout every other play. and what do you think bobby cox will say about it. ha.

but hey i hate questec as well....

    dumb and dumber

if you are going to use cameras it wont be long when you wont want or need umpires at all (which takes the fun out of the game)..... also why build fences/walls that can create problems? if it doesnt clear a wall/fence then it is not a home run. a bar right behind the yellow capping that keeps a ball from going out how dumb is that?

What's more important... the human element, or getting the call right??/ Think about that before you respond.

    Ruin Baseball

Instant Replay would be the biggest mistake in the history of Baseball.

Stretchlon, doing away with umps would cause your world to shift on its axis wouldn't it? Replays for any sport is terrible.

One thing that ML baseball doesn't need is to find another way to slow it down. I already get to cut my grass between innings and still won't miss the 1st pitch

They replayed the slide at home plate a dozen times Monday night and you still could not tell if he touched home plate or not.

Not so sure what the big deal is. The ump's ego? How hard would it be to put a camera, straight down over the plate. Because, really, the call at the plate is most time the most important call. Maybe two at each fair pole. Other than that not much else you need to look at.
