...and none of the things you mentioned have changed the rules or integrity of the game.

    You're the Man

    Braves....

I dunno, does being under 50 put you in the "old codger" bracket? I know I don't fall into the "X" generation bracket, so I just wonder where that leaves me?

Oh, I know, it leaves me in agreement with Braves' response to that "hoops" person .....

BTW - NO to instant replay and YES to reinstatement of wood bats from HS all the way up!!!

    This old codger....

    This old codger remembers when:
1.) you didn't need relievers because pitchers could actually pitch an entire game!
2.) pitchers didn't need 5 days rest because they could pitch when the team needed them to
3.) hitters didn't need cork, metal, or steroids to hit a ball farther
4.) kids didn't pay THOUSANDS of dollars to get hitting and pitching instruction because they figured it out on their own or they sat the bench.
5.) you could collect autographs from players who weren't worried about whether or not they violated their contracts with Topps or Upper Deck
6.) you could actually memorize all the players on a team and know that they'd be on the same team when spring training began the following year
7.) pitchers were "man enough" to own the inside of the plate at any and all cost
8.) umpires weren't so darn sensitive
9.) you could go to a game and get a red hot and a beer for a decent price
    10.) kids collected baseball cards

Hoops...by your screen name, I gather you're a basketball fan. Remember when basketball players could shoot free throws, pass the ball, and shoot jump shots? Your generation screwed up basketball, too....

I agree with aguyyouknow. How are you going to make a call. "Upon further review I feel that he would have gotten a double and cleared the bases." It's different with football but with baseball you can't make judgments like that.
