Where exactly did I say his motives are pure? I agreed he used Louisburg as a bargaining chip and LC enjoyed the exposure from him doing it. Regardless, whatever you may think, I can tell you that his Dad wants him to go to LC for this year (from someone who is much closer to this situation than anyone on here). It is not much different that what Neighborgall did when he set his asking price at a point where he would either take it or go to school if they didn't meet what he was wanting. I am just not willing to get on here and declare he is greedy for sticking to what he asked for when his second choice is going to college. I just find it amusing that a bunch of people assume they know what is best for Justin Upton and if he doesn't take it, he is stupid. Bard got offered good money and went to UNC-Ch instead. Is he stupid? Did he disobey the Lord by not taking millions? Get real! Sometimes, we are called to make decisions not based on money but based on what we know to be best for us spiritually, financially, mentally, and physically. I will let he and his parents determine what that is without pre-judging a kid I don't know. Amazing how emotional you people are over some kid you will never meet and has no influence over your lives. You are acting like you know what is best for him and know nothing about him, his family, or his specific situation!

If education is so important to him, why didn't he stick with his commitment to NCSU? State is a fine school and offers many majors for the academically inclined.

As a NCSU grad, I agree with the second part. Who's to say he won't eventually show up at NCSU. Have heard the coaches at NCSU recommended him to go to Louisburg (as they did Elijah Dukes two years ago and he could have used the extra two years to mature rather than make the maturity mistakes he has in the minors).
