    Even though these ratings mean nothing, maxpreps just recently ranked the girl teams in NC.
    2A East Davidson is ranked number 1, with Freedom in second place. 3rd East Mecklenburg, 4th West Charlotte and 5th Butler.

    Flip the rankings

    I think if you flipped the teams it would be a lot closer to the truth.. no way East Davidson or Freedom can match up size wise with West or Butler and they both have good enough guard play to offset Freedom's strength. Just my take but I would love for Freedom to prove me wrong as this is Coach Fox best chance to win it before her core players graduates.

    You'll find out tomorrow on two of the teams - East Meck plays Butler in the Bojangles Shootout. Both teams looked impressive today.

    Tman - I tend to agree with you. I would love to see the 2A team that is as good as these 4A teams. Every team is beatable on any given night, but you better bring 5 quality starters and depth to compete with Freedom, Butler and West Charlotte.

    Yeah I was a little surprised too. However swingaway, classifications mean nothing. If you are talented it doesnt matter what classification you are in. 1A River Mill recently beat undefeated 4A South View which is a state contender this year from the east. East Davidson beat River Mill by 30.

    I agree

    I agree - I should have left out the classification.

    I just read the Maxpreps ranking system and it is all computer ranked. The computer has not seen any of these teams play.

    Nonetheless, this is a great group of teams.

    I went to go watch East Davidson play tonight and they are every bit as good as advertised. They may not be the best team in the state but definately can compete with the best of the best.
