The pitcher from Ga. may have been laughing on the field but she was crying like a baby in the dugout 10 seconds later. I feel she was an embarassment to her team, her coach, and her college. I hope that any young lady that was watching this game would understand there is a difference between having fun and showing your a** on national TV. I bet these antics would not take place on a team coached by Mike Candrea.

Oh and by the way as to the rules on the pitching lane either enforce the rule or take it out of the rule book. The NCAA only made themselves look bad in front of millions by letting the rule be made a mockery of on live TV.

....Hey Gator, nice post. The pitching lane gig was a joke.
I'm with you bro', either call the "infraction of the rule" or get rid of the rule.
    Wash. played like champs! Congrats

    Recruiting

Have your DD or other players, get mad and show themselves in front of college coaches and see if they get recruited. She could pop her glove, tell her pitcher have the batter hit the next one to me, or my bad etc., don't get mad, get even! Seems many of you want the girls to be boys and that will not happen, they play things differently but does not mean they do not want to win or do not care. Been coaching girls since the 1990's and never had a losing season, they are a joy to coach but you must learn how to push the right button with each one. They are competitive, just forget about it sooner.

That is what I was talking about. I was not talking about getting mad and screaming, cursing, pouting or letting it linger. Show some type of emotion (NOT laughing) that acknowleges you know you made the mistake/error and then be done with it (the other girls on the team should help pick her up also). I would bet the college coaches actually want to see that. I don't think they would want to see them laughing about making mistakes or acting like it never happened. Everyone makes mistakes/errors, it happens. Acknowledge it, learn from it, and do everything you can to not do it again.

I have been coaching girls for 6 years and never had a losing season either. I am not sure what that has to do with anything but anyway... I have loved every minute of it. They are NOTHING like boys and I wouldn't try to treat them like boys.

Let us all remember the gig of this thread....

.....by ChaCha. He/She? is only pointing out how annoying the antics of the UGA team were in his/her mind. Some of the things Shnake, the SS would do might chap alot of folks in the butt. I can tell you this, the cotten pickin cameras were watching her form start to finish. The video rollovers of plays by players and their emotions were shown over and over between innings and before games.
Look, you don't have to like the antics by ballplayers, hell take Terrell Owens, pick him as a player on your fantasy football team . I'm not asking him over for dinner, I'm asking him to score.
As for Softball, I've got to beleive that some of these antics are good for the sport. Yes, there is a diminishing marginal return when it goes too far, I'm with ChaCha, I think the so-called enthusiasm by UGA went a little beyond the limit.

    Opinion

We all have opinion and are able to share them here! I just love to see kids smile and enjoy playing softball! If they do not enjoy, why play. Now I did not watch all of the Ga/Washington game so maybe I should not comment given you guys apparently watched the whole game.
I am just glad travel ball begins so I can coach and enjoy the kids!

....you're right RT, we all have an opinion. My opinion is based on having watched UGA over the last couple of years.
Good luck to you pal in your quest providing a cool ass organization/team for the kids we all care about to move on to the next level.
    Thanks for raising the bar.
