WCU ended their season 10-43, 2-21 in the conference. Pitiful. Who would want to go there and play?

    Returing ???

The other question would be who will return, the players that went tru this season are probably looking for other oppurtunies for next year if they let the current coach stay. Typically a team will improve over the coarse of a season with any kind of coaching, WCU started the conference season by getting runned ruled by Elon all 3 games, and finished the season getting runned ruled by the two teams at the bottom of the standings in Samford and App. 3 of the 6 games played. They did finish on a high note though, after getting RR the previous 3 games they got in 2 full 7 inning games today, and even scored 5 runs in one game, can't wait till next year, they might want to start a new stat and instead of Wins and Loses they can count playing a full 7 inning game as a Complete, who knows they might just be on to something. Sorry for making fun of the program, nothing against the players, this is on the coaches and definitly on the AD.

ABOSLUTELY NO HOPE! NCAA should be called.

OK, softball fans around the globe will tell you this years record was horrible... starting in the circle... NOT... starting with RECRIUTMENT... then followed by piss poor coaching!

1st: To say that pitching does not matter is ridiculous! A great pitcher need only pitch three pitches per inning, ball placement at the plate will ENABLE the fielders to do their job... with the batters from the opposing team consistingly hitting HOMERS... the fielders cannot do their job. My word... PITCH the FRAKKIN BALL ALREADY!

2nd: If we were not so into taking away personal time and letting players have a little free time, they might actually like to play like when they were kids! The talent on this team has gone up and down in my opinion and shoving the game down athletes throats does not make them better.

3rd: The last time I checked yelling and screaming and working players so hard they get sick or INJURED was not a strong attribute of a good coach let alone a great coach. We are not supposed to just coach the athletes to be better players... WE ARE SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THEM!

Lastly; it was all peaches and cream during the recruitment process... this year two more athletes have either left the team or been forced off. How ridiculous again! And for an AD to say his door is open and the athletes know they can go to him... WHAT A JOKE! And also stated having a loosing record did not mean anything

I say the athletic department at Western Carolina University (oh... WCU) is a flippin JOKE! And someone who can afford an attorney would be well off to bring a lawsuit against the school for... MISREPRESENTATION, HARRASMENT, NEGLECT, INTIMIDATION AND SEER IGNORANCE!

Thank you for your time...:dead-horse-fast2:... beating my dead horse now!

If you want to go to school to party, Go to WCU. If you want to play ball or learn you best go somewhere else.

:bsflag:Nice quote Tater, Bet you have never been there except to party. Your comment has nothing to do with softball.

You would be correct. Did not and would not attend school at WCU. To answer the question about WCU softball, the way things stand now there is no hope. The only way to fix it is to wipe the slate clean and start all over. Get a new coach and new players that are D1 talent and start over. If they don't do this they will always be the laughing stock period.

appears to me that maybe your kid wanted to go there but wasnt recruited so now you have resorted to coach bashing? I am sure the staf are doing the best that they can do and I am also sure that things will not improve if potential recruits come on here (which I doubt) and read nothing but coach bashing from a pissed off parent. its always easy to blame a coach:behead:

No need for a potential recruit to take what is said on this board as gospel. All they need do is look at their record and go watch one game. It is not rocket science. It is a D1 program that is run like NAIA.
