    ohh... personal... ridiculous!

Why did this all of a sudden become personal... oh.. I know... we cannot stick to facts... WCU's coaching is horrible and the AD's office is... well CRAP!

tools... You did say one SMART thing in your reply to me and I'd like to thank you for that... you said you had FUN! What kind of fun are our girls having with these people not supporting them when they recruited them? Did you watch the Women's World Series? DUDE... every woman there looked like they were having fun. We should not be attacking each other... we should (once again) be supporting the athletes... you have missed something here tools.

And the name is Technis not techmo... your such a TOOL!!! :sign0081: rofl

I'm a long way from WCU but

distance is sometimes helpful in analyzing these situations. Needless to say it's been a rocky road for the program. The original coach profited from being able to offer her recruits immediate playing time (see L Navas original recruiting class @ ncsu). Coach Smith brought in a talented group. However, that team also played a cupcake schedule (something like 12+ HBUC's). That said they were able to win a relatively weak SoCon right out of the box. This created expectations that were certainly beyond realistic. Coach #2 has obviously struggled. I know little about the individual players but did know some in the original group. JJ and MM leaving forced players to the circle who really didn't belong there severely crippling the team and starting a downward spiral.

It's difficult to discuss bad teams (and make no mistake about it WCU is bad) objectively in a public forum. Look at UNCW on this side of the state. The last two years board participants have predicted improvement citing the talent there. Unfortunately, those posters either aren't objective or don't really understand what D1 talent looks like. I suspect the same is true @ WCU. I think Bear Bryant said 'You can't make chicken salad without chicken'. The simple fact is both these teams are short of true D1 talent, particularly in the circle.

Whose fault is that? Of course the easy answer is the coach but what most people don't know is how much $$ these schools have to work with. Again, objectively, how hard is it to attract kids to WCU? Academically it's the weakest public non-HBUC (according to SAT scores) in the state. It's a geographically isolated cold weather school in a warm weather league. Unlike App State it has a lousy football team and unlike "UNC by the sea" there's nothing to do in the summer. This is a tough job with a .500 record probably the best likely consistent outcome.

Agree with it or not, this is the most honest and truest post that has been posted about the WCU situation.
