This Memorial Day we have new heroes to honor and new sacrifices to mourn. Since our last Memorial Day, America has fought another war. Brave soldiers, Marines and airmen fell in defense of our freedom and security. Those who serve and die represent the best of America. They are courageous, dedicated, highly-skilled, and motivated by love of country. The debt we owe those who made the ultimate sacrifice cannot be repaid. Mere gratitude is insufficient. We should salute the men and women of our Armed Forces, those currently serving and all those who have gone before. In solemn prayers of thanksgiving let us this Memorial Day humbly thank God for such as these, who have secured our liberties and made it possible for us to live in peace and prosperity (giving us all the freedom to play and watch the game we love). :medal: :medal: :medal:

On this Memorial Day weekend, there is nothing (especially baseball) more important than paying tribute to those who have sacrificed in order to defend our freedoms.

For this weekend, I'm sticking this thread as a reminder to us all. Whether you are at a ballgame, a race or just working in your yard, take a minute to reflect on the brave men/women who have gone on before us and those who are defending us now.

I will continue to pray for their safety.
